WHO

Holand & Reithaug, also known as the duo Darling Clementine, is an award-winning design studio with almost 20 years of experience. After a chance meeting in 2006, Darling Clementine was established, and we’ve been working together ever since.

Our journey began with designing our own line of stationery and homewares, which were sold in high-end design shops and galleries around the world. In 2009, we were approached by Norway’s largest ice cream brand—Diplom-Is—and had the honour of redesigning one of Norway’s most well-known ice cream logo characters, Eskimonika. The iconic figure adorns Diplom-Is packaging and can be found outside nearly every kiosk in Norway, from Kirkenes in the north to Kristiansand in the south. This project was a true game-changer for us. We began taking on larger projects, focusing predominantly on packaging design.

WHAT

Typically, clients come to us with a specific request for their brand, such as illustrating a campaign or developing a packaging series. Often, for larger brands, there’s also an advertising agency involved in the project. But if you’re a smaller brand with an idea, we can handle the entire design process ourselves—from concept to final solution.

When needed, we collaborate with partners in strategy, photography, web design, or any other specialised field to ensure a comprehensive result.

WHY

We've always been fascinated by how visual communication enhances everyday life—how great design stirs emotions and draws attention. How it makes you pick up a book in a bookstore or choose one greeting card over another. This mindset still guides our work.

We believe the most powerful and effective solutions do more than appeal to reason—they resonate with the heart as well. This has been our mantra throughout the years, working on projects for clients such as Marks & Spencer, Target, H&M, Godiva, Kate Spade, Lufthansa, Abel & Cole, and Neutrogena, amongst others.
